Having a child with autism can be both a joy and a challenge. Many parents are desperate to try and improve their childrens’ lives and a recent study shows that many are resorting to unconventional therapies. The UK charity Autistica just released its study of UK families with autism. As in Ireland, many parents in the UK expressed their frustration at delays in accessing appropriate medical care. Although most respondents supported conventional scientific research and therapies a significant number had tried unproven approaches.
